Lung Cancer Screening Patient RepresentativeThe Lung Cancer Screening Patient Representative will provide administrative support to the Lung Cancer Screening Program, Clinical Operations, and clerical assistance. This individual will work to improve coordination of patient care, help patients navigate the healthcare system, reduce barriers when possible and support achievement of program deliverables through various resources. This position will require the ability to interact with personnel as well as outside agencies and patients, the ability to act independently to carry out duties and responsibilities of the job without specific supervision by people or procedure, and the aptitude to establish work priorities to meet established deadlines.Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations with patients, visitors, physicians and co-workersProvide administrative support to the Lung Cancer Screening program and clinical operationsPerform clerical duties that contribute to the overall efficiency of the program servedReceives, prioritizes, and triages telephone calls appropriatelyComposes memos, reports, minutes, and other reports as requestedAssist with data entry/management and upload of data to appropriate registries for management of the lung cancer-screening programUsing Electronic Health Record (EHR) system, enter patient encounter data and follow-up schedule. Maintains records in an organized and timely formatCreates reports and performs other clerical/record keeping duties as requestedPromotes communication and education between the patient and healthcare providerMakes Service Line Coordinator aware of ongoing issuesManage and track patient referrals and scheduling/appointments/authorizationsMaintain patient confidentiality and security of their informationPromote communication between providers, patients, and others involved with patient carePlans and participates in community education events and health fairs. May require travel to meet the needs of the program and populations servedExcellent at communicating in a business setting, as well being detailed orientedProvides education, support, and coordination to assist patients in securing appointmentsHas a working knowledge of medical terminology and coding in reference to all screening procedures and related follow-up testingOther duties as assignedEducation: A GED or High School is a minimal educational requirementMinimum Work Experience: At least 1 year experience functioning in a clinic or hospitalRequired Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities: Highly proficient in the use of Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, Meditech, PACS, and standard office equipment.
