Continuously voted one of the best places to live in the country, Vermont is home to hard-working, hard playing people who appreciate the outdoors and all the state has to offer.Duties/Responsibilities:Fabricate components using various pieces of equipment in order to clean, cut, bend, tack, and weld parts ranging from simple weldments to complex assemblies; select appropriate methods for such fabrication based on available resourcesMeet daily production and quality demandsWork with other team members and stake holders to develop weld/fabrication support documentation and best practicesEnsure compliance with Industry Welding and Fabrication StandardsSet up and maintain work area, select and verify the materials and tooling needed for productionComply with health, safety (including OSHA), and environmental procedures, and ensure the cleanliness of the areaRead and interpret mechanical drawings to ensure proper dimensions and specifications have been met for fabricated componentsOther duties as needed to support VSC's various racing programsRequired Skills/Abilities:Strong mechanical aptitudeCurrent welding certification (or the ability to achieve it within 3 months)Ability to operate various types of welding and fabrication equipment and toolsAbility to read blueprints and technical drawings. Knowledge of GD&T is a plus.Strong familiarity with the use of precision measurement equipment used in productionExcellent time management skillsExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailEducation and Experience:High School Diploma or GED is requiredMinimum of three (3) years' relevant welding and fabrication experienceProven ability to multi-task and work comfortably in a fast-paced, often-changing environment including excellent organizational skills with a high degree of initiative and flexibilityProven ability to be a team player with high integrity is a mustPhysical Requirements:While performing the duties of this position, individuals may frequently be required to stand, walk or sit for extended periods of time; use hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; regularly required to talk and hear.The individual must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds.Specific vision requirements for this position include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus as required.At Vermont SportsCar, we take care of our employees.
