Senior Staff AccountantThe Senior Staff Accountant will be responsible for operational accounting, managing/reconciling general ledger accounts, researching and resolving variances, preparing journal entries and preparing various spreadsheetsResponsibilitiesResponsible for maintaining/reconciling certain general ledger accounts and researching and resolving variancesPrepare adjusting entries, accruals, and closing entries to maintain the accuracy, completeness and integrity of the accounting records and to facilitate an efficient accounting close processResponsible for maintaining certain processes documentationRun close process in NetSuite and post close reportsReview POs monthly for accruals and close POs when out of dateAssist with intercompany charges billed to other Canon entitiesAssist with gathering information for annual tax return preparationPrepare various financial reports for management and CanonAssist with forecasting and budgetingFile Annual ReportsCoordinate with Canon auditors as neededEnsure all activities are in compliance with Company's procedures for internal controlRepresent Finance and Accounting Department in cross functional projects as neededRequired Education and SkillsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field or equivalent work experience5+ years of experience in related positionExperience with accounting software and exposure to corporate IT systems and networksProficient in Microsoft Office Products (primarily Excel)Must have strong interpersonal skillsMust have strong written and oral communication skillsJob CompetenciesAnalytical Skills - Interprets and digests complex information, applies logic and sound critical thinking to astutely evaluate information, identifies flaws in reasoning but integrates good judgment in presenting findings, creates insightful and comprehensible reports, devises improvements or corrections to processes/procedures/plans based on strong analytical findings.Dependability - Meets commitments, works independently, accepts accountability, handles change, sets personal standards, stays focused under pressure, meets attendance/punctuality requirements.Quality Work - Is attentive to detail and accuracy, is committed to excellence, looks for improvements continuously, monitors quality levels, finds root cause of quality problems, owns/acts on quality problems.Productivity - Manages a fair workload, volunteers for additional work, prioritizes tasks, develops good work procedures, manages time well, handles information flow.Company OverviewAt Canon Medical Informatics (formerly Vital Images, Inc.), what we do matters.
