This position requires attention to detail, compassion, and adherence to safety protocols to provide excellent patient care throughout the transport process.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Safely transport patients using wheelchairs, beds, or stretchers, including those with oxygen tanks, IV pumps, drips, and specialized equipment.Maintain a secure and healthy work environment by following established policies, federal and state regulations, and accreditation standards.Utilize proper lifting and transferring techniques and equipment to prevent injury.Provide comfort and reassurance to patients and their families, demonstrating cultural sensitivity and punctuality.Accurately document patient transports in the electronic medical record system.Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members regarding transport completion and job responsibilities.Clean and sanitize transport equipment regularly to ensure patient safety.Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.Experience: Some patient care experience is preferred but not mandatory. Familiarity with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel is beneficial.Certification/License: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.Mental/Physical Requirements: This role demands close mental focus and sustained visual attention. The position often involves working under stressful conditions due to patient needs and customer demands. Physical requirements include standing, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs., pushing, pulling, stooping, crouching, turning, twisting, reaching, and frequent walking. Efficient self-mobility throughout the medical facility is essential.Working Conditions: Frequent exposure to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, chemicals, disinfectants, and occasional hostile individuals may occur. Proper use of lifting equipment is mandatory to prevent injury.
