Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Conducting comprehensive initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of residents to determine mobility capabilities, pain levels, and physical function.
• Developing, implementing, and monitoring individualized treatment plans tailored to meet each resident's specific goals and objectives, in collaboration with their healthcare providers.
• Administering evidence-based therapeutic interventions designed to increase mobility, alleviate pain, and prevent future injuries.
• Providing education to residents, families, and caregivers on effective therapeutic techniques, home exercise regimes, and strategies for maintaining progression.
• Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nursing staff and occupational therapists, to ensure cohesive and comprehensive care plans.
• Maintaining meticulous records that comply with Medicare standards and state regulations to ensure quality of care and proper documentation.
• Fostering a positive and empowering environment for residents that respects their dignity and promotes independence.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The ideal candidate will primarily serve a geriatric population, often dealing with multifaceted health scenarios, including post-operative recovery and chronic conditions affecting mobility. Understanding the unique challenges these residents face is crucial, as you will be instrumental in employing therapeutic interventions that significantly improve their quality of life and independence.

Qualifications

• A current and valid Physical Therapist license in the state of Virginia (or eligibility for licensure).
• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited Physical Therapy program; candidates with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) are preferred.
• CPR and BLS certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
• Exceptional communication skills, coupled with a strong sense of empathy and organizational capability, are essential for effective engagement with residents and their families.

Preferred Experience

Compensation and Benefits

This position offers a competitive annual salary in the range of $90,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package, which includes:
