OB/GYN PhysicianThe OB/GYN Physician will work to support the mission and vision of Neighborhood Healthcare (Neighborhood) by providing excellent patient-centered care and services within a dynamic team environment. The role will primarily focus on providing comprehensive obstetric and gynecological care to our patients in an outpatient setting.Responsibilities:Administers or prescribes treatments and tests including pap smears, pelvic and breast examsConducts thorough consultations, medical histories, and physical examinations of patientsDiagnoses and treats gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, pelvic pain, infections, and menopause related symptomsProvides prenatal care, including regular check-ups, basic ultrasonography, and screenings for pregnancies, including high risk pregnanciesOffers family planning services, contraceptive counseling and assists with contraceptive proceduresPerforms minor office-based procedures such as colposcopies, endometrial biopsies, contraceptive implants/removals, and IUD insertions/removalsEducates patients on reproductive health, preventative care, and treatment optionsProvides counseling and support to patients regarding family planning, fertility issues and pregnancy related concernsProvider and Team Support:Collaborates with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, midwives, and support staff to provide comprehensive patient careShares accountability for overall patient health outcomes by working in coordination with care teamsOperates to instill confidence in our care and in our facilities to patients, fellow employees, and other stakeholdersAssesses training needs and promotes developmental activities of medical staffClinical Administration:Advise Advanced Practice PractitionersMaintains accurate and up to date electronic medical records and ensure proper documentation of patient encountersReviews patient files/records, including allergies, problems, medications, and immunization statusElicits and records information about patient medical historyExamines patients for symptoms or physical informationOrders and executes various tests, analyses, and diagnostic images to provide information on patient's conditionAnalyzes reports and findings of tests, examinations, and diagnoses to understand the patient's current conditionDetermines and prescribes patient medications, dosages and schedules dependent on their conditions and allergiesPrescribes and administers vaccinations to immunize patients from communicable diseasesDocuments patient visits, including medical history, physical exam, diagnoses, and plan of actionStays informed of organizational activities and promote mission and goalsStays abreast of the latest advancements in obstetrics and gynecology through continuing education, maintenance of certification and professional developmentReviews and responds to all forms of communication, such as emails, postal mail, voice mailsFunctions at highest level according to credentials and competencyImpacts patient experience by demonstrating courteous and helpful behavior and a commitment to accuracyCustomer Relations:Maintains professional working relationships with all levels of staff, clients, and the publicCooperates in accomplishing department goals and objectivesEducation/Experience:Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of an accredited residency program in Obstetrics and Gynecology requiredBoard certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology requiredActive and unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of California is requiredProficiency in conducting gynecological examinations, procedures, and obstetric careCurrent CA DEA licensure is required and is to be maintained as a condition of employment.Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an American Heart Association (AHA)-approved source is required upon hire and must be maintained as a condition of employment.Additional Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills and Abilities):Strong knowledge of current evidence-based practices and guidelines in obstetrics and gynecologyExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients and colleaguesAbility to work collaboratively in a team-based healthcare environment as well as independentlyProficiency in using electronic medical record for accurate and timely documentationDedication to providing compassionate and patient centered careCommitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with advancements in the fieldAbility to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formAbility to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneouslyExcellent planning and organizational abilityAbility to work with highly confidential information in a professional and ethical mannerPhysical Requirements:Ability to lift/carry 10 lbs/weightAbility to stand for long periods of timeCompensation Disclosure: The posted salary range reflects the designated pay grade for this position. While this range represents the broader classification of the role, actual compensation will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: the candidate's overall knowledge, skills, and experience, market data and industry benchmarks, internal equity within the organization, budgetary considerations and organizational needs.
