Travel RN – Labor & DeliveryA well-established healthcare organization seeks an experienced Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for a 90-day onsite contract in Silver Spring, Maryland. This role supports a busy birthing unit requiring strong clinical judgment and composure under pressure.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care for antepartum, intrapartum, and immediate postpartum patientsMonitor fetal status via continuous electronic fetal monitoring and interpret tracingsAdminister oxytocin, magnesium sulfate, and other high-alert medications per protocolAssist with vaginal and cesarean deliveries and support the OR/scrub role as neededRecognize and escalate obstetric emergencies including shoulder dystocia, hemorrhage, and eclampsiaEducate patients and families on labor progress, pain management options, and newborn careDocument nursing assessments and interventions accurately in the EHRRequirementsActive RN license in good standing (compact or Maryland)Minimum 2 years recent Labor and Delivery experienceACLS, BLS, and NRP certification requiredProficiency with electronic fetal monitoringMust reside 60+ miles from facility (travel assignment requirement)Preferred QualificationsAWHONN Fetal Monitoring certificationOR/scrub experience for cesarean deliveryEpic EHR experienceScreening QuestionsHow many years of Labor and Delivery RN experience do you have?Do you hold an active Maryland or compact RN license?Do you reside at least 60 miles from Silver Spring, Maryland?
