ChristianaCare is seeking a skilled per diem Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to support the delivery of high-quality rehabilitative care. In this role, you will work under the direction of a licensed Occupational Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans that help patients regain independence and improve quality of life following injury, illness, or disability. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Implement treatment programs developed by the Occupational Therapist, ensuring they are age-appropriate, diagnosis-specific, and aligned with individualized patient goals and timelines Monitor and assess patient responses to treatment, reporting progress and recommending modifications in collaboration with the supervising Occupational Therapist Accurately complete all required clinical documentation within scope of practice Assist in progressing patients toward established rehabilitation goals in a timely manner Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary care team regarding patient status, goals, and equipment needs Provide education and training to patients and their families to support recovery and independence Supervise COTA students during clinical affiliation programs as assigned Participate in departmental planning initiatives, meetings, in-services, and professional development opportunities Deliver care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric populations, demonstrating age-specific competencies EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Graduate of an accredited Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) program Licensure in the state of Delaware as a COTA CPR certification required AOTA preferred ChristianaCare offers: Incredible Work/Life benefits including medical/dental/ vision insurance coverage on your first day of employment, paid PTO, retirement plans, twelve weeks of paid parental leave, annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through View email address on click.appcast.io, retirement planning services, financial coaching, fitness and wellness reimbursement, and great discounts through several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much more! This pay rate/range represents ChristianaCare’s good faith and reasonable estimate of compensation at the time of posting.
