Member Consultant II

About the Role BECU, a member‑owned credit union, is hiring a Member Consultant II to deliver a seamless and high‑quality member experience. In this role you will apply product knowledge to support business services, consumer lending, deposit servicing, IRA, POA, and fiduciary accounts while managing the sales pipeline and ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Responsibilities Provide outstanding customer service and sales consulting to members. Identify, diagnose, and address members’ financial needs and refer them to specialized services when necessary. Sign all line- and loan documents originating through outbound/inbound call center activities. Participate in financial wellness programs, including budgeting, debt management, and financial planning resources. Maintain accurate member records and update systems using BECU’s technology platforms. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience. At least two years of experience in a sales‑oriented, financial, or retail environment. Desired Qualifications: One year of experience in a financial institution. Spanish language fluency (highly desirable). Thorough understanding of the sales process and ability to manage a sales pipeline efficiently. Strong proficiency and comfort with learning new systems and programs; capability to navigate multiple systems simultaneously. Ability to successfully complete a 12‑week in‑house training program after hire. Comprehensive knowledge of credit union objectives, products, and services. Understanding of state and federal laws related to membership, deposit, and loan products. Effective verbal and written communication skills for daily member interactions. Problem‑resolution, negotiating, organization, multi‑tasking, and peer‑coaching abilities. Willingness to work flexible shifts and adjust to business needs. Compensation Target pay range: $26.00‑$32.12 per hour (subject to performance incentives). Base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, and role alignment. Tuition reimbursement. Voluntary time off (Becu Cares) with donation matching. Schedule and Training 12‑week training program: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM – 6:30PM. Flexible shifts post‑training: Monday–Friday, 8:00AM – 6:30PM; up to three Saturdays per month, 8:30AM – 1:30PM. Rotation across pod branches is required for the first year. Pod & Location Position is part of the Mountain District pod, with branches in Auburn, Covington, and Maple Valley. Travel between branches and the Tukwila training location is required.
