Job Overview We are seeking a talented individual to join our Government Human Services Consulting (GHSC) team at Marsh People and Investments. This role will be based in Phoenix, AZ, Seattle, WA, Minneapolis, MN or Atlanta GA. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office. Medicaid is a government-sponsored health insurance program in the United States designed to provide healthcare coverage to low-income individuals and families. As a consulting firm specializing in Medicaid, Marsh People and Investments GHSC team assists state governments in optimizing their Medicaid programs. Our team plays a vital role in managing and analyzing Medicaid claims data to enhance patient access to care, improve cost efficiency, and elevate the quality of services provided to these individuals. To learn more about Marsh People and Investments GHSC practice, please visit Responsibilities Perform comprehensive analysis of health care, financial and other detail data using spreadsheet and database management software, with most time spent in Excel Assist in the development of reports, spreadsheets, and presentations Work on multifaceted projects to build a better understanding of health care delivery systems, specifically government-sponsored health and welfare programs such as Medicaid and Medicare Thrive in a fast-paced, challenging, and dynamic consulting environment with colleagues across the practice at all levels Collaborate with colleagues on smaller teams, with opportunities to support other projects and clients depending on practice needs Requirements A bachelor's degree with graduation in Fall 2026 or Spring 2027 and concentration in economics, finance, accounting, business analytics, mathematics, statistics, or a related analytical major Minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 Legal work authorization to work in the U.S. on a permanent and ongoing basis without the need for sponsorship now or in the future What Makes You Stand Out? Strong analytical skills, both quantitative and qualitative Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including experience using formulas and functions to organize, analyze and interpret data with a strong desire to work in complex financial and actuarial models Knowledge of data analysis, project management, and presentation design Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills Intellectual curiosity Ability to work collaboratively on a team Flexibility to respond to changing client needs Superior organizational skills and strong attention to detail Creative problem-solving abilities Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment Development Program Your first four weeks will include a structured analyst development program designed to build on the Excel and analytical skills you bring to Mercer and prepare you to apply them to complex healthcare financial consulting work, through hands-on exercises and a capstone project. You'll gradually gain exposure to client work throughout the program, allowing you to apply what you're learning and transition into meaningful project responsibilities. Compensation The applicable salary for this role is $68,000 in Phoenix and Minneapolis and $73,000 in Atlanta and Seattle.
