Hospitalist App / Nocturnist
OVP Health, a small-to-medium physician-owned and operated group, is seeking a hospitalist app / nocturnist. The position is located at Pomerene Hospital, 981 Wooster Rd., Millersburg, OH 44654. OVP reports 12 app openings across its current search; Pomerene hospitalist app is the current app staffing priority. The target start is ASAP. The reason for opening is turnover, retention, and growth. The employment level is full-time.
Schedule & Clinical Setting
Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
App shift: 7:00 PM 7:00 AM
Physician shift: 7:00 AM 7:00 PM
Weekend / Holidays: Approximately 12 weekends per month; weekends and holidays split evenly among the team
Call: None listed
Hospitalist daily census: 610 patients
Hospital beds: 15 total
Special care beds: 3 special care unit beds, included in the 15-bed total
Hospitalist EMR: TrueBridge (CPSI)
Specialty coverage: General surgery and OB/GYN; hospitalist does not provide OB coverage
Compensation & Benefits
Base compensation: $75$80/hour for hospitalist app nocturnist
Productivity / RVU: No RVU incentive
Sign-on bonus: Negotiable
Relocation assistance: Negotiable
CME: $1,500 per year for apps
401(k): Company match up to 3% after one year
Health benefits: Health insurance, HSA, and short-term / long-term coverage options
License / DEA: Covered in full for full-time providers
Credentialing fees: Covered
Professional dues: $250/year local medical society dues and/or may use CME allowance
Malpractice: $1M / $3M

Candidate Profile
- App experience is preferred because of the autonomy required on the night shift.
- Ohio licensure is required for the app position; OVP states licensure costs are covered for full-time providers.
- The general OVP requirements list standard emergency medicine certifications including ATLS, BLS, and PALS. The Pomerene hospitalist profile specifically lists ACLS in connection with procedures. Exact certification requirements for this app role should be confirmed.
- Visa sponsorship is available according to the OVP overview.
Clinical Responsibilities & Procedures
Needs confirmation before presenting to candidates: The general OVP hot sheet states "no procedures for app," while the Pomerene hospitalist sheet lists ACLS and emergency intubation if needed, supervision of stress tests, and central lines as preferred but not required. Clarify which of these apply specifically to the nocturnist app.
