This role blends technical quality expertise with strong people leadership, requiring someone who leads from the front, sets clear expectations, and builds a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.The Quality Control Manager candidate will have the following Responsibilities:Lead and develop quality team members across shifts; drive accountability and performanceOversee quality control processes across fabrication, welding, coating, and galvanizing operationsImplement and improve quality systems, procedures, and inspection standardsDrive root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)Utilize SPC, process capability, and data analysis to improve manufacturing performanceInterpret and enforce codes, standards, shop drawings, and specificationsPartner with operations to support Lean / continuous improvement initiativesFoster a culture of safety, quality, and proactive problem-solvingThe ideal Quality Control Manager candidate will have the following Qualifications:Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree + 3+ years of quality experienceOR Associate's degree + 6+ yearsOR 9+ years of progressive quality experienceStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsExperience with: Welding inspection, coating inspection, and NDT (non-destructive testing)Root cause analysis tools (fishbone, Pareto, etc.)Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capabilityKnowledge of steel fabrication processes (cutting, forming, welding, painting, galvanizing)Ability to make data-driven decisions and influence cross-functional teamsProficiency with Microsoft OfficeQuality leadership experience in an AISC-certified heavy fabrication environmentCertifications: AWS CWI (Certified Welding Inspector)SNT-TC-1A (VT, MT, UT Level II)NACE CIP Level IASQ CQE or CMQ/OEExperience leading Lean Six Sigma / CI projectsStrong people leader who leads by example and builds team cultureSelf-starter who takes initiative without needing directionComfortable balancing shop-floor presence with strategic quality improvementsTechnically sound, but equally focused on developing teams and driving changeFor more information please apply!
