School Nurse Position

Embark on an impactful opportunity providing professional nursing care within a supportive educational environment. This contract role offers full-time hours, with an immediate start and a commitment through late June 2027. As an RN, your work will help ensure student safety and wellness across multiple school buildings for a district in the Paterson, NJ area.

Schedule runs from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling 35 weekly hours. There are four available positions, and the district is seeking male nurses but welcomes all qualified candidates.

Desired Qualifications

• Active and valid NJ School Nursing RN license (no LPNs, please)
• Documented school-based nursing experience
• Strong skills in immunization compliance and record-keeping
• Proven comfort and adaptability serving diverse school populations
• Ability to manage caseloads and oversee health needs for entire buildings
• Reliable transportation; ability to commute efficiently and consistently
• Willingness to complete onboarding requirements: TB test, physical, fingerprinting (agency and district protocols)

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver daily nursing care and emergency support to students and staff
• Administer and monitor immunizations per state and district guidelines
• Respond rapidly to student health needs and manage ongoing interventions
• Coordinate with staff, administrators, and parents to address health concerns
• Maintain detailed and confidential student health records
• Promote best practices in school health and safety
