NJ-Fuel Strategy Manager

Total Aviation Staffing is partnering with a leading private aviation and travel services provider to find a Fuel Strategy Manager who will play a critical role in optimizing one of the industry's largest operating expenses—aviation fuel. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, results-driven professional with experience in aviation operations, fuel purchasing, procurement, or vendor management. You'll develop fuel purchasing strategies, negotiate with suppliers and FBOs, analyze fuel spending, and help drive operational efficiency across the organization. Key Responsibilities Develop and execute strategies to optimize company-wide aviation fuel purchasing. Monitor and analyze fuel spend to identify cost-saving opportunities and pricing trends. Benchmark fuel pricing across key airports, markets, and operating routes. Build and maintain strong relationships with FBOs, fuel suppliers, and aviation service providers. Negotiate competitive fuel agreements, volume discounts, and vendor contracts. Partner with scheduling, dispatch, operations, and finance teams to maximize strategic fuel purchasing opportunities. Audit fuel transactions to identify billing discrepancies, recover overcharges, and ensure compliance with negotiated pricing. Establish and maintain fuel purchasing guidelines and company policies. Develop dashboards and reports to track fuel costs, savings, vendor performance, and purchasing compliance. Monitor aviation fuel market trends and recommend purchasing strategies based on market conditions. Support cross-functional initiatives focused on operational efficiency and cost control. Required Qualifications Experience in aviation operations, fuel management, procurement, vendor sourcing, or a related field. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret pricing data and purchasing trends. Experience identifying operational efficiencies and cost-saving opportunities. Proven negotiation and vendor relationship management skills. Experience reviewing transactions and resolving pricing or billing discrepancies. Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced operational environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Preferred Qualifications Knowledge of FBO networks and aviation fuel pricing structures. Experience supporting private aviation, business aviation, charter, or aircraft management operations. Familiarity with dispatch, trip planning, aircraft routing, or fuel release processes. Experience negotiating with fuel providers or aviation vendors. Experience creating dashboards, KPIs, and cost reporting tools. Advanced Microsoft Excel or data analysis skills.
