Respiratory Therapist

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care by delivering intensive respiratory care, along with patient transport into and out of the facility as medically prescribed. This role operates within the scope of the professional license and requires minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate patients and recommend treatment plans.
• Explain purposes and procedures of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, and provide necessary education upon discharge.
• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen devices, and nebulizers.
• Perform chest physiotherapy to promote secretion clearance and suctioning of patients using various methods.
• Monitor oximetry and capnography according to policy.
• Review patient chest x-rays and perform pulmonary function studies as required.
• Assist with respiratory care-related procedures, including tracheostomy and endotracheal tube management.
• Record all pertinent information related to treatments and communicate efficiently with attending physicians.
• Maintain accurate respiratory therapy charging and perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule

This position operates under a Night 4x12.0 schedule.

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

Candidates must possess appropriate licensure and certifications relevant to the role of Respiratory Therapist.
