Production Worker

Production Machine OperatorSummary The Production machine operator is responsible for producing the product according to specifications to include machine start up procedures, line speed adjustments, material checks and quality standards in every product we make. The machine operator is responsible for tracking waste, reporting machine issues, participates in team huddles, the CIL (Clean, Inspect, Lubricate) process, and helps drive improvement within the production team.Duties and ResponsibilitiesSet Up Machine ProperlyMaintain a clean machine and work areaMake adjustments as necessary throughout productionFollows and maintaining visual standard specificationsCompletion of required paperwork and documentationParticipate in Process Improvement activitiesParticipate in team forums, huddles, escalation sessions, and safety & training sessionsNotify Supervisor of any problems with equipment and product deviationsPerforms repetitive tasks and follow instructionsAdhering to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) that are in effect assuring the quality and quantity of product producedAdhere to Lock Out Tag Out Safety StandardsUnderstand and maintain high standards of tidiness and organization in line with good 5S (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) practiceFollow all applicable safety policies and proceduresSupport, comply, and ensure complicity with Health & Safety regulations including Food Defense, the Company Handbook, Quality and Environmental standards, and all other Company policies and proceduresAdditional responsibilities and duties as assigned by supervisorQualificationsSome manufacturing experience preferred with food manufacturing desirableStrong work ethic and organizational skillsAble to perform basic troubleshooting functionsAble to multi-task in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentAble to work on feet for extended periods of timeReliable mode of transportationMust be able to follow written proceduresMust be able to perform repetitive tasks and follow instructionsBasic math knowledgeParticipate and recommend solutions to common quality & food safety issuesTake action to continuously improve his/her process targetsAdhere/ follow the food safety programs in the department including GMPsProficient reading, writing, and verbal communication skillsBilingual in English/Spanish is desirableCompetencies/ SkillsTeam-orientedAdaptabilityAttention to detailMechanically InclinedWork in a fast paced environmentSupervisory Responsibility No supervisory responsibilityWork Environment While performing the essential duties of this job, the employee could be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, moving regularly, and standing for hours at a time. Strong food odors from fresh cut produce could also be present. If work is in a refrigerated environment temperatures could be 38 F to 45 F. Proper insulated protective gear is provided. Proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn in the production area, loud noisy machinery and equipment is typical.
