What You'll Be Doing As a Cook I, you'll support daily culinary operations while building the skills and confidence to grow within Medinah's kitchens. Prepare. Assist with preparing food according to recipes, build sheets, portion standards, and direction from the Chef team. Learn. Build your knowledge of ingredients, cooking techniques, equipment, presentation standards, and professional kitchen operations. Get Ready for Service. Properly prepare and organize hot and/or cold line stations. Deliver Quality. Help ensure food is properly prepared, cooked, seasoned, portioned, and presented. Stay Organized. Maintain clean and organized kitchen, cooler, storage, and work areas. Work Safely. Follow food handling, sanitation, equipment, and workplace safety standards. Be a Teammate. Jump in where needed and work alongside the culinary team to create an exceptional experience for our members and guests. Qualifications We’re looking for someone with a strong work ethic, an interest in food, and a willingness to learn. We’d love to see: Previous kitchen, restaurant, or food service experience preferred. Basic knowledge of food preparation and safe food handling practices. Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and established standards.Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach. Ability to stay organized and productive in a fast-paced environment. Food Handler Certification as required by the State of Illinois. Culinary education or formal training? That's a plus, but it's not required.
