Senior Paralegal - Immigration

Under the leadership of the Senior Manager of Practice Support Operations, this position works directly with immigration attorneys and assists with meeting immigration deadlines. After an initial period of training, this position is eligible for a hybrid‑remote work schedule. Key Responsibilities Liaises with attorneys to understand case strategy and petition/application filing type, including timing considerations, expectations, and related matters such as dependent filings in a high‑volume employment‑based/business immigration practice. Communicates with the client to gather necessary information and circulate the application/petition questionnaire, along with an outline of additional information and documents needed for filing. Drafts and circulates correspondence. Provides case assessment/analysis, prepares comprehensive forms and support letters, and all other documentation associated with immigration practice, including extensive document revisions to finalize petition/application for attorney review and filing. Tracks incoming client data, critical deadlines, and contacts clients or other related parties directly as may be required within the framework of departmental practice per attorney instruction. Assists in the maintenance of calendar and departmental deadline reminder systems, including the Firm’s centralized docketing system and INSZoom, client‑specific case status charts, and reviews to ensure that tasks are timely completed. Assists with meeting all immigration departmental deadlines, facilitating smooth workflow with miscellaneous tasks or projects, particularly during heavier work periods. Assists attorneys in all aspects of preparing and processing employment‑based immigration petitions and applications, including extensions and amendments of work visa, for stateside and consular work visas and green card processes. Downloads/uploads immigration documents from/to the client and other databases. Participates in the creation of databases, charts, templates, and performs data entry, conducts database searches and general reports, as requested. Mentors and assists in onboarding and integrating new hires into the team, along with training lesser experienced professionals on the team with immigration processes and case preparation. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required Must possess a high level of professionalism and interpersonal skills so as to be able to work well with employees at all levels within the organization and maintain all information in the strictest of confidence. Required to use tact and diplomacy when dealing with others. Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including Outlook, Word and Excel. Must have strong technical skills including Adobe and the ability to quickly learn new technology. Experience and Education Qualifications Must have substantial case preparation experience in employment‑based/business immigration law. Must have 10‑15+ years of business immigration experience (paralegal or related role). Associate’s Degree (or higher) preferred. Extensive legal experience in a capacity other than paralegal may be considered towards qualification for this role.
