Position Summary

The Production Manager oversees daily production operations within an ISO 9001 manufacturing environment producing electronic safety and security products supporting our national defense. This role is responsible for maintaining the production schedule, coordinating activities across teams, supervising a small staff of production personnel, and supporting operational growth. The Production Manager works closely with Logistics, Program Management, Quality Management, and Manufacturing Engineering to ensure materials, labor, and processes align with production goals.

Key Responsibilities

Production Scheduling & Planning

• Develop, update, and maintain a master production schedule.
• Coordinate schedule inputs with Logistics, Materials, and Program Managers.
• Monitor WIP and adjust priorities to meet delivery deadlines.
• Identify production risks such as material shortages and adjust plans accordingly.

Team Leadership & Workflow Management

• Directly supervise production technicians.
• Assign tasks, monitor progress, provide training/guidance and ensure efficient workflow.
• Support hiring and onboarding of new production staff.
• Promote a safe, organized, and quality-focused production environment.

Material Coordination

• Share responsibility for material planning with the Logistics/Material Coordinator.
• Track material status and ensure readiness for upcoming builds.
• Provide labor and build forecasts to support purchasing decisions.

Engineering & Prototype Support

• Coordinate with Manufacturing Engineering on prototype and first-article builds.
• Ensure resources, materials, and schedules align with engineering requirements.
• Provide production-related feedback to support manufacturability and process improvements.

Quality & Compliance

• Assign and track rework in accordance with internal processes.
• Ensure compliance with ISO 9001 production documentation requirements.
• Maintain accurate build records, travelers, and production reports.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in electronics or electromechanical manufacturing supervision.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience/education required.
• Experience supervising or coordinating production teams.
• Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Experience with labor projections or quoting (strong plus).

The annual pay scale for this position is $120,000 – $140,000 (salaried) . Exact compensation may vary based on skills and experience. There is no relocation assistance for this position . Employment is contingent on applicants successfully passing a criminal background check. Work schedule is standard Monday-Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with limited flexibility.
