About the Position

Job Title: Progressive Care Unit Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current state nursing license required Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: Epic experience required Description: The nurses in our Progressive Critical Care Unit care for some of the most medically delicate and surgically complex patients. Common patient conditions include respiratory failure, sepsis, closed head injuries, multi-system organ dysfunction, endocrine disorders, complex traumas, and surgical complications. Candidates must be competent in the care of medical and surgical populations. Experience in advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols, is essential. Nurses are expected to manage antihypertensive drips, sedative and narcan drips, thrombo-embolytics, CVP, EVD, and ortho traction. Infection prevention protocols are a priority. Experience with high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), BiPap, and Cpap is required. Nurses with large-scale adult PCU experience or community hospital ICU experience will do well. The average patient load is 3 high acuity patients. Competency tests are required shortly after the application submission.
