Join our mission-driven primary care team dedicated to serving America's Veterans as the Medical Director of Primary Care at our Aberdeen VA Clinic. In this outpatient leadership position, you will integrate clinical practice with medical oversight, influencing the delivery of care for those who have served our nation.

What Makes This Opportunity Unique

  • Combination of Leadership and Clinical Practice: Act as both a practicing primary care physician and the Medical Director for the primary care service.

  • Consistent Schedule: Enjoy a Monday to Friday routine from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no night shifts or on-call duties, and minimal weekend responsibilities.

  • Outpatient Focus: Work in a community-based clinic setting supported by a strong nursing and administrative team.

  • Make a Difference: Enhance quality, accessibility, and patient experience for a panel of Veterans and the healthcare professionals who serve them.

  • Deliver direct primary care to a designated group of adult patients, focusing on chronic disease management, preventive care, and acute visits.

  • Lead the primary care team by overseeing clinical standards, workflows, and quality improvement initiatives.

  • Provide support and mentorship to physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other team members within the Patient Aligned Care Team (PACT) framework.

  • Work collaboratively with administrative and nursing leaders to enhance access, manage patient panels, improve population health, and elevate the Veteran experience.

  • Engage in performance improvement efforts, credentialing processes, and policy implementation at the clinic level.

Ideal Candidate Qualifications

  • Board Certified in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.

  • Proven experience in primary care, preferably with previous leadership roles such as chief or lead physician.

  • Excellent communication abilities with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.

  • A strong commitment to Veteran-centered care and a passion for mentoring and coaching fellow clinicians.

  • Possession of, or eligibility for, an active and unrestricted U.S. medical license.
