Purchasing Agent

Major Function:
Prepares reviews and tracks capital expenditure MRO and service-related purchase orders through the procurement process.

• For assigned procurements work with suppliers contractors production staff engineering and facilities management to execute order management activities including quotation solicitation supplier/contractor negotiations order issuance proactive confirmation of anticipated deliveries expediting needed parts and resolving past due deliveries.
• Ensure proper supplier risk mitigation techniques are applied to minimize the companys liability in the event of contractor accidents scope creep and failure to fulfill the ordered scope of work.
• Select qualified vendors and evaluate their performance.
• Act as a liaison between contractors and internal customers to coordinate the timely execution of contracted services.
• In coordination with internal customers prepare scope of work statements for contracted services.
• Provide material cost and delivery estimates for MRO material as requested.
• Assist internal customers by responding to their purchase order delivery status inquiries unplanned material requirements and expedite requests.
• Support the Purchasing Manager in special projects procurement of inventory parts and by working with department managers on upcoming purchasing needs.
• Prepare for and attend facility management staff meetings.
• Resolve receiving and invoicing related discrepancies for assigned procurements.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time.
