Lead School Age Teacher

Children's Cottage of Wilmington is a licensed childcare center seeking Lead Teacher to support in the following age groups: School Age . To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED and the ability to pass all background checks Preference for applicants who have an associate degree or bachelor's degree. A plus if you have previous childcare experience! Our Hiring Process: Resumescreen Phone screen with recruiter (30 minutes) On-site interview with Center Director (30-60 minutes) Q&A Classroom observation Offer MainJob Responsibilities: Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides. Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently. Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children. Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom. Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May. Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role. Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
