Registered Nurse - Telemetry

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized nursing care to patients in the Neuro/Ortho unit, focusing on assisting with post-surgical recovery, managing complex patient needs, and utilizing advanced IV and wound management equipment. Ensure optimal patient outcomes through adherence to unit protocols and clinical best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and monitor medication and infusion therapies including chest tubes, non-titrated Cardizem and Amiodarone drips, and weight-based heparin infusions.
• Assess, plan, and implement individualized patient care plans according to clinical standards.
• Operate and troubleshoot advanced medical equipment such as Baxter IV Pumps, KCI wound vacs, and SCD pumps.
• Document patient information accurately within the Meditech EMR system and communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team.
• Adhere to unit policies, dress code (Royal blue scrubs), and safety protocols to maintain a compliant and professional environment.
• Provide patient education regarding procedures, treatments, and post-discharge care as needed.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license with at least 1 year of clinical experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry care and basic med/surg competencies.
• Must possess BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Experience with Meditech electronic health record system is highly desirable.
• Ability to manage complex patient conditions and operate specialized medical equipment.
• Strong communication and team collaboration skills.
