Role Overview The Operations Engineer drives key daily quality and reliability metrics to enable the department to meet its business objectives in quality, productivity, and cost. The role coaches personnel on best practices to improve first‑time‑right production. It plays a key role in interpreting process data, observations from the manufacturing floor, and technical aspects of the process to drive systemic improvements. The Operations Engineer reports to the Gummies Leader and collaborates cross‑functionally with manufacturing, technical operations, engineering, and quality. Key Responsibilities Develop standards and procedures to improve reliability of the manufacturing process. Lead root‑cause problem solving for operational Non‑Conformance Reports (NCRs) and customer complaints and identify how to prevent recurrence (CAPAs). Support Operational Excellence initiatives, including Total Productive Maintenance programs (e.g., Autonomous Maintenance). Leverage technical mastery of manufacturing to aid successful new product launches, understand processing times (routers), and implement process improvements. Use appropriate problem‑solving techniques (Design of Experiments, RCFA, FMEA, etc.) to determine root causes of manufacturing failures and initiate necessary corrective action to eliminate or reduce recurrence. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate is recognized as a strong technical leader with hands‑on experience in a manufacturing environment and knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). You possess a “discover, learn and apply” mentality that can motivate others to succeed. You have a proven track record for implementing and sustaining operations systems, methods, skills, and behaviors. Must Have Experience & Qualifications 5+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations engineering or process improvement within an industrial manufacturing or military environment. Knowledge of data analysis techniques such as Statistical Process Control, Fault Tree, Fishbone, Six Sigma (DMAIC). Strong quantitative acumen and ability to perform data analysis, trending, and data collection. High level of interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with business partners and working groups to meet mutual goals. Requires a 4‑year college or university degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Food Science or equivalent experience. Desired Behaviors & Mindset Driven reliability and work process improvements leveraging operations experience in a sustainable way. Reduced operational non‑conformance (NCRs)/customer complaints and associated loss while ensuring robust root‑cause problem‑solving and correct CAPAs. Successful new product development (NPD) transfer. Demonstrated continuous improvement mindset, searching for the next opportunity using data, qualitative information, and direct observation. Effective in sustaining success using Plan‑Do‑Check‑Act (PDCA) processes. Participated in or led cross‑functional change in a manufacturing environment to align to a vision or industry best practices. Physical Requirements Manufacturing, pilot lab, and general office environment, which may occasionally require lifting up to 35 lb. Environment Negligible exposure to disagreeable elements. Frequent work in pilot plants and production facilities. Travel Overnight travel for training or to support other Pharmavite regional facilities is anticipated. Up to 10 % routine travel to support other locations and up to 25 % travel for special/new projects. Safety The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering their own or others’ health or safety. Compensation National Target Base Pay Range: $80,000.00 – $133,000.00. For candidates in California and the New York metro, the Target Base Pay Range is $88,000.00 – $146,000.00. Base pay is one component of the total rewards offering.
