Work Environment

The work setting is an outpatient office located in Saint Petersburg, a vibrant city known for its excellent quality of life, beautiful beaches, and rich cultural heritage. Our facility is equipped with the latest medical technologies, ensuring that our team can perform a range of cardiac tests and procedures efficiently. You will work a standard schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with occasional evening and weekend hours required to accommodate patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments through detailed medical history evaluations, physical examinations, and the ordering of appropriate diagnostic tests.
• Diagnose and manage various cardiovascular diseases, including coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular disorders by developing tailored treatment plans.
• Perform and interpret advanced cardiac tests and imaging studies such as echocardiograms, stress tests, angiograms, and cardiac catheterizations, integrating findings into the patient's care plan.
• Lead and participate in interventional procedures, including angioplasty, stenting, and pacemaker insertions, while ensuring patient safety and comfort throughout these processes.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to form and implement comprehensive care plans, ensuring seamless coordination of patient care.
• Provide educational guidance on heart health, disease management, and lifestyle modifications to empower patients in their treatment journey.
• Engage in ongoing research initiatives and contribute to clinical trials to advance medical knowledge within the cardiology field.
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records utilizing our electronic health record (EHR) system to support optimal patient care.
• Stay actively involved in professional development and continuously update knowledge on the latest cardiology advancements and therapies.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will primarily serve an adult patient population, including individuals with complex cardiovascular conditions. Our commitment to patient-centered care ensures that you will engage closely with patients, understanding their unique challenges and tailoring treatment plans that address their specific needs. You will also work to enhance community awareness of heart health through educational programs and outreach initiatives.

Qualifications

• A medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
• Completion of a residency program in internal medicine.
• Successful completion of a cardiology fellowship from an accredited program.
• Current board certification or eligibility in cardiology from the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) or an equivalent body.
• A valid medical license to practice as a cardiologist in the state of Florida.
• Demonstrated expertise in diagnosing and managing a wide array of cardiovascular issues.
• Proficiency in performing and analyzing cardiac tests and imaging studies.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, facilitating effective collaboration with team members and engagement with patients.
• A commitment to ongoing education and adopting innovative approaches to cardiovascular care.

Preferred Experience

Ideal candidates should have prior experience in an outpatient cardiology setting focusing on advanced diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Familiarity with a variety of cardiac technologies and modalities is highly desirable. Experience in conducting independent patient evaluations and managing treatment plans will be an advantage.
