Press Setup / Operator

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Press Setup/Operator to join our dynamic production team. The ideal candidate will focus on the metal stamping industry, particularly electronic devices, and aerospace components. The candidate will possess considerable hands-on experience with mechanical presses and progressive stamping processes and demonstrate a commitment to producing high-quality products within a fast-paced environment. We produce high-quality medical and aerospace components that contribute positively to the industries that we service.

Responsibilities:

• Safely manage various mechanical presses, ensuring equipment functions efficiently during deep drawing and progressive stamping processes. The individual will adjust settings as necessary to accommodate diverse materials and specifications.
• To prepare machines for production runs, the setup/operator installs and adjusts dies precisely and configures machine settings, such as speed and feed, based on material requirements. Before starting full-scale production, the setup/operator conducts tests to ensure accuracy and performance.
• The setup/operator regularly inspects output using measuring tools like calipers and gauges to ensure quality. Any defects or issues are promptly addressed to minimize waste and maintain product integrity.
• Reading and comprehensively understanding job orders and technical documents is crucial for ensuring precise and effective task execution. This involves thoroughly reviewing all instructions and specifications, identifying key requirements, and interpreting any technical terminology.

Required :

• This position involves working in a manufacturing environment. The employee must be aware of potential hazards, including, but not limited to, working near moving mechanical parts, operating vehicles, exposure to electrical current, high temperatures, and chemicals. Maintaining high alertness and caution while performing tasks in this work environment is important.
• HS diploma or equivalent is required; relevant certifications, vocational training, or an associate degree in a related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience as a Press Operator
• Must be able to read and understand technical documents. This will include: job orders, specifications, and blueprints for accurate task execution.
• Must have experience with precision measuring instruments. Calipers, verneirs and micrometer. (relevant to quality assurance function and processes).
• Must be able to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to organize, prioritize, and complete work within deadlines.
• Meticulous attention to detail is imperative to ensure the production of high-quality and to identify potential errors.
• Basic troubleshooting skills and mechanical aptitude, with an ability to effectively diagnose issues in machinery and tools.
• A thorough understanding of safety protocols and procedures is essential to maintain a safe working environment.
