The position also requires the supervision of students during patient care.Locations: Savannah & LibertyResponsibilities:Prepare lesson plans for classroom instruction for nursing occupational coursesInstruct students, developing program syllabi, goals, and objectives; Develop, manage, and teach classes. delivering instruction both individually and as a member of a teamDevelop and coordinate curriculum; conduct assessments of all courses taught in the department as requestedComplete reports and requests for information from internal and external departments and agenciesEnsure compliance with Georgia Board of Nursing standards, rules regulations, and expectationsCollaborate with colleagues on common curriculum areasMaintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field by attending staff development training, workshops, seminars, and conferencesFollow policies/procedures of Savannah Technical College, to include standards for student-faculty professional relationships/interactionCommunicate professionally and in a timely manner with College employees, students, community partners, and visitorsPerform other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:Registered Nurse with a current active Georgia Nursing License in good standing with Georgia Board of Nursing. License cannot have the following status codes: probation, suspended, expired, lapsed, inactive, pending, renewal pending, revoked, or surrenderedAssociate's degree in nursing from an accredited institution.Minimum three (3) years of registered nursing experience within the preceding seven (7) years.Must be flexible to teach day or evening classes and 12-hour clinical rotations on weekdays and/or nights or weekends.Possess current certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.Possess valid driver's license and proof of insurability.Possess basic computer skills including Word, excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.Preferred Qualifications:Experience teaching adults and/or supervising nursing students in a clinical setting.Bachelor's degree or higher in nursing from an accredited, post-secondary institution.Physical Demands:Teaching responsibilities are typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with the employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for three (3) - four (4) continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts/carries objects that weigh 10 lbs. or less. Clinical responsibilities are typically performed in a hospital, long term care facility, or other medical facilities and require that the employee stand/or walk for ten (10) - twelve (12) hours: bend, twist, push/and or pull for three (3) - four (4) hours; and occasionally lift 50 lbs. to 75 lbs. per rotation. The exposure to infectious diseases, gas, or fumes is possible during clinical rotations.Salary/Benefits:Salary is commensurate with education and work experience.Application Procedure Position considered open until filled.
