Host Position at Bar Shishi

Bar Shishi is looking for talented Hosts to serve as the face of the bar and provide guests with their first impression of the establishment. The ideal candidate possesses a guest first attitude, strong commitment to service, and excellent communication skills. Open availability is preferred.

Responsibilities include:

• Greeting and escorting guests to tables in a gracious and professional manner.
• Interacting with guests and fellow staff members in a polite, courteous, and hospitable manner to ensure all guests have an exemplary dining experience.
• Greeting and acknowledging VIPs in a professional manner.
• Controlling the flow of guests coming into the restaurant and bar.
• Anticipating guest needs and responding appropriately with a sense of urgency.
• Maintaining a proactive approach to solving any guest questions or problems.
• Directing guests to the appropriate waiting area and providing table updates.
• Bidding farewell to guests, using their name, and encouraging them to return to the establishment.
• Maintaining a clean and sanitized work environment.
• Answering phone calls and directing them to the appropriate department.
• Assisting in supervising food servers, bussers, and food runners as it relates to guest contact and table information.
• Overseeing daily restaurant reservations and pre-assigns seating when necessary.
• Communicating with management regarding special orders, cake orders, special requests, and VIP requests.
• Shutting down podium and reorganizing host stand at end of a shift.
• Ensuring that all lost items are returned to management.
• Acting as a brand ambassador for the company.
• Ensuring compliance of all procedures and policies set forth by the company, division, and Health Department.
• Performing all opening and closing duties as assigned.

Requirements include:

• Minimum 1 year experience as a host in a fine dining setting.
• Must be 21+ years of age.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• Must have excellent time management skills.
• Must be able to maintain a professional demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be reliable, responsible, and trustworthy.
• Must have high energy, great communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
• Must be able to stand during entire shift, often up to 8 hours with frequent bending, squatting, and lifting plates, boxes, and objects up to 30lbs.
• Must have attention to detail and willingness to deliver exceptional customer service.
