Occupational Therapist (OT) Opportunity – Inpatient Behavioral HealthPembroke Hospital is hiring for a Per Diem Occupational Therapist to join the Activity Therapy team! Pembroke Hospital is a 120-bed acute care, inpatient behavioral health facility located south of Boston, in Pembroke, MA. Situated on 26 acres, we offer inpatient and partial hospitalization treatment to teens, adults and older adults, and our services are designed to assess, stabilize, and treat patients by addressing their primary symptoms and problems. By Listening Deeply and Understanding the Story of our Patients, we will Make a Difference in the Lives we Touch.Serving as a member of the Activities Therapy Department, the Occupational Therapist is responsible for developing, coordinating, and implementing a variety of therapeutic groups for assigned patient populations, which may include adolescents and/or adults.Responsibilities:Develops, organizes and facilitates occupational, activity and skill development groups for patientsEnsures groups are age appropriate and consistent with level of growth, development and functioningConducts all assigned occupational, therapeutic and activity groupsEffectively utilizes the screening process to determine each patient's general level of functioning in the areas of self-management, work/education, and social functioning in order to identify and deliver appropriate therapeutic servicesDocuments appropriately patient assessments, group notes and narrative notes utilizing chart and/or electronic medium as necessaryAssists in providing a therapeutic milieu for patient programmingAdapts group protocol to engage all participants regardless of individual functional capacityIdentifies short-term goals and monitors progress toward identified long-term goals on the treatment planIdentifies interventions for each objective which incorporates patient strengthsProactively communicates with treatment team regarding patient progress, areas of concern, and potential risks involving patient behaviorMaintains attendance and progress notes for periodic reviewEnhances existing programs using creative problem solving for the benefit of patient careAbout Universal Health Services:One of the nation's largest and most respected providers of hospital and healthcare services, Universal Health Services, Inc.
