The primary role of an Assistant Food Service Director is to assist the Director of Food Services in planning, organizing, developing and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations  governing our facility, and as may be directed by the Director or Administrator, to assure that quality nutritional services are provided on a daily basis and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning and managing the Dietary Department.

• Coordinate with Nursing, Housekeeping, and other departments.

• Maintain dietary policies, procedures, and records.

• Ensure meals meet resident needs and quality standards.

• Monitor food storage, diet changes, and meal service.

• Assist with incident reports, performance reviews, and quality assurance.

• Maintain resident diet preferences and therapeutic diet plans.

Personnel

• Assist with hiring, interviewing, scheduling, and training dietary staff.

• Supervise staff, delegate tasks, and maintain productivity.

• Address attendance and performance issues as needed.

• Ensure smooth meal preparation and a positive work environment.

Qualifications:

• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in a medical facility .

• Training or experience in food management, cost control, and diet therapy .
