Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med Surg/Oncology Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 12 months of oncology experience in a hospital or medical center setting required. Med surgical experience is highly preferred. License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate. Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support) required. Must-Have: - 12 months of oncology experience in a hospital or medical center setting. - Experience with infusaport access is required. - Skills checklist must be specific to oncology/med surgical disciplines. - Professional reference from a charge/supervisor/nurse manager/director/CNO/COO performance evaluation/reference from within the last 24 months is preferred. - Experience with EPIC EMR is highly preferred. - No first-time travelers; must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 12 months. - CHEMO/ONS/ONCC certificate is a nice to have. - Recent chemotherapy experience is preferred. Description: This position involves caring for patients in oncology and med/surg settings. The nurse will be responsible for assessing patients, administering treatments, and managing side effects. The nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care. Floating across other med-surg units may be required. Patient ratios are 1:5-6 on nights. The bed size for the unit is 28. The nurse will need to have experience with infusaport access. Candidates should demonstrate strong critical thinking and communication skills. The role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Working on holidays is required unless the unit is closed. Availability for weekend shifts is expected on a rotating basis.
