Registered Nurse - Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) - Contract
Department: Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Job Type: Contractual
Shift: 19:00 - 07:30, Monday to Friday
Hours Per Week: 36 Hours
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive, round-the-clock care to premature and critically ill newborn infants.
- Attend to the fundamental needs of infants, including feeding and hygiene.
- Operate and adjust specialized medical equipment.
- Develop and implement nursing care plans, evaluating treatment efficacy.
- Offer comfort and support to infants, parents, and their families.
- Educate families on the at-home care of their newborn.
Requirements:
- Licensure & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (or compact license, if applicable to RI).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
- STABLE certification.
- Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of recent NICU experience (Level II/III).
- Experience with ventilated and high-acuity neonates is preferred.
- Systems:
- Proficiency with EPIC Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.
- Vaccinations:
- Mandatory flu vaccination.
- Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination.
