JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Data Engineer designs, builds, optimizes, and supports scalable data infrastructure and business logic that enable network performance analysis, customer insights, operational reporting, and enterprise analytics. Building on Ezee Fiber's Data Engineer scope, this senior-level role owns complex data engineering solutions, establishes technical standards, improves data reliability and performance, and provides technical guidance across data initiatives. The role partners with technical and business stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, secure, accurate, well-governed, and actionable in a fast-paced, fiber-focused environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Design, develop, and optimize scalable ETL/ELT pipelines integrating data from CRM, OSS/BSS, GIS, network monitoring tools, REST APIs, and other enterprise platforms. Write efficient, reusable, production-quality Python and SQL code to process, transform, validate, and serve large and complex datasets. Lead the design and implementation of automated data-quality controls, anomaly detection, monitoring, alerting, and remediation processes. Design and optimize data models, data lakes, data warehouses, and related architecture to support business intelligence, analytics, and operational use cases. Own and enhance data infrastructure across cloud and on-premise environments, including platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, MS SQL, and PostgreSQL. Evaluate pipeline and platform performance, identify scalability or reliability risks, and implement technical improvements that increase resiliency and efficiency. Establish and promote engineering standards for data pipelines, schemas, documentation, testing, deployment, observability, and version control. Partner with Engineering, Field Operations, Customer Experience, Finance, Marketing, and other stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into scalable data solutions. Provide technical leadership on data initiatives, including solution design, architecture decisions, code reviews, troubleshooting, and guidance to less-experienced engineers or technical partners. Define and maintain trusted datasets and data products that support dashboards, performance metrics, forecasting, and executive decision-making. Ensure data solutions comply with Ezee Fiber standards for security, privacy, compliance, access controls, and data governance. Support data lineage, metadata, documentation, and data-integrity practices across systems and applications. Lead or support integration of real-time or near-real-time data using technologies such as Kafka, Spark, APIs, or comparable tools. Identify opportunities to automate manual data processes, reduce technical debt, and improve the quality, speed, and reliability of data delivery. Independently diagnose and resolve complex production data issues and communicate risks, impacts, and recommended solutions to technical and business stakeholders

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Data Engineering, or a related technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience. Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible experience in data engineering, data pipeline development, software/data platform engineering, or a closely related role, including experience independently designing and supporting production‑grade data solutions. Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, REST APIs, and at least one modern ETL/ELT or orchestration framework such as Airflow or dbt. Strong experience with cloud-based and/or on-premise data platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, MS SQL, or PostgreSQL. Demonstrated experience with data warehousing, dimensional modeling, data lakes/lakehouses, and scalable data architecture. Experience optimizing data pipelines, queries, storage, and data models for performance, reliability, and scale. Experience implementing data quality, testing, monitoring, observability, and governance practices in production environments. Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Experience in telecommunications, utilities, fiber network analytics, or another infrastructure‑intensive industry. Familiarity with GIS systems such as ESRI or QGIS and spatial data integration. Experience with OSS/BSS platforms or telecom monitoring tools such as Calix, Ciena, or Netcracker. Experience with real-time data streaming and distributed processing technologies such as Kafka or Spark. Experience with modern cloud data platforms, CI/CD, infrastructure automation, or data platform observability. Experience mentoring engineers, reviewing technical designs/code, or serving as a technical lead on complex data initiatives. PHYSICAL, FIELD, OR ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS

The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of the job, the associate is required on a daily basis to analyze and interpret data, communicate, and remain in a stationary position for a significant amount of the workday and frequently access, input, and retrieve information from the computer and other office productivity devices. The associate is regularly required to move about the office and around the corporate campus. The associate must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds.
