Technician, Laboratory

Venture Global LNG (“Venture Global”) is a long‑term, low‑cost provider of American‑produced liquefied natural gas. The company’s two Louisiana‑based export projects service the global demand for North American natural gas and support the long‑term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies. Technician, Laboratory Location: CP2 LNG Facility, Cameron, Louisiana. Successful candidate may be required to train at any of the other Venture Global facilities for a duration of 3‑6 months. This role reports to the Laboratory Supervisor and will be responsible for progressing the Ready for Operations (RFO) activities, ensuring a seamless transition of the facility from EPC to the operations phase. This includes assisting with commissioning activities of lab equipment and instrumentation, validating procedures and work instructions for testing, analysis reporting, and chemicals management. The incumbent will be responsible for conducting the analysis of samples for a typical LNG plant, analysis of which shall include, but not necessarily be limited to: Natural Gas Composition and impurities testing. LNG composition (Before and after treatment) Refrigerant composition Dewpoint (Natural Gas & other gases) Utility Water (produced, waste, cooling) Testing of other plant utilities Amine testing Environmental Waste Streams Cargo Certificates of Analysis The incumbent shall also be familiar with sampling procedures and associated laboratory equipment to perform analysis of the above components. Responsibilities Operate laboratory equipment in a safe, reliable, and operationally responsible manner. Test and analyze the above‑mentioned sample types, record lab results and generate summary reports using application software and lab data repositories. Run daily quality control checks on applicable instrumentation following GPA, ASTM, and applicable ISO standards. Operate laboratory equipment to perform required analysis, troubleshoot equipment difficulties, and initiate minor repairs. Basic inventory management of laboratory supplies and parts. Execute daily laboratory tasks and requests in a timely manner with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with other laboratory technicians and supervisory staff on activities. Qualifications Education and Certifications: Degree in Science, Chemistry or equivalent preferred. A minimum of two (2) years experience working in a hydrocarbon laboratory (may be substituted with education or relevant LNG experience). Oil and Gas experience is preferred, with preference in LNG applications; petrochemical, NGL, cryogenic natural gas processing, or other hydrocarbon processing experience may be acceptable. Knowledge of basic laboratory equipment, including Gas Chromatograph, DewPoint meters, sample cylinders, regulators, valves, balances, etc. Analytical skills in quality testing using gas chromatography.
