The primary purpose of the Sales Team Leader is to assume responsibility for leading, coaching, mentoring, and directing assigned sales personnel to profitable sales growth annually. Additionally, each Sales Team Leader may have assigned accounts and serve as a technical resource to their team. The incumbent in this position will maintain collaborative relationships with all members of Neff Group Distributors and customers to ensure that the highest degree of service is maintained at all times.

1.      Directly reports to Neff Senior Management.   

2.      This position is supervisory.

3.      Work and communicate professionally with all staff, customers, and vendors.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Recruits, hires, and develops new Technical Sales Representatives, Technical Sales Specialists and Key Account Managers.
• Develops a virtual bench.
• Works closely with team members to achieve planned performance, meet sales goals, and be proactive in coaching and observing Account Managers while generating and sustaining trust.
• Displays appropriate interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and motivate different personalities.
• Shows the leadership ability to develop team members into top performers.
• Works with under-performing team members to create and implement corrective action plans.
• Visits customers of his assigned team members.
• Insures team members achieve a minimum technical proficiency in all disciplines.
• Determines business potential for Neff Group products or services and services assigned accounts, when necessary.
• Reviews customer activities at least quarterly with Account Managers.  Strategizes ways to maximize sales volumes or grow territory.
• Participates in training and development opportunities as assigned and has a working knowledge of Neff Group products and services.
• Hold a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive a passenger vehicle without restrictions to meet position requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be engaged off-site making contact with customer’s and working within the assigned sales territory. The employee will also be in an office setting and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. 

This position requires frequent travel to customer locations, the incumbent must possess a valid driver’s license.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is primarily in climate controlled settings, but may be exposed to wet and/or humid hot and/or cold conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and outside weather conditions.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, ear protection is provided when needed.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• 7-10 years proven sales experience.
• A relevant Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, with robotics and/or PLC Controls; or a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Psychology, Communication, or Organizational Development.
• Strong, demonstrated mechanical/technical aptitude.

LANGUAGE SKILLS  

• Ability to read, analyze, and interprets technical procedures, and product information in English. 
• Ability to write reports and business correspondence. 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

• Ability to mathematical equations to determine quantity, price, discounts, etc. 

REASONING ABILITY

• Analytical ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability to engineer solutions and assist with the design of systems to meet customer needs.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Computer literacy is strongly preferred.
• Ability to initiate, maintain, and develop relationships.
• Persuasive/closing ability.
• Strong customer focus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; talk or hear.  The employee is required to use hands to touch, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.
