The clinician will teach patients sound production, voice improvement, and oral or written language skills to enable more effective communication. The SLP will also educate individuals on strengthening muscles or employing compensatory strategies to enable safe swallowing. Provide skilled speech therapy services / interventions in accordance with physician orders. Assess patient needs, plan, evaluate, and modify care to meet goals of speech therapy interventions. Set realistic and achievable goals for patients to develop, or recover, reliable communication and swallowing skills so that the patient can fulfill their educational, vocational and social roles.
