Graduate Management Analyst

With a 100% full-time placement record (10 of 10), with the cities of Novi, Troy, Saline and Oak Park, Michigan, and Sugar Land, Texas, the City of Novi (population est. 66,000, located in desirable Oakland County, SE Michigan) seeks an enthusiastic Graduate Management Analyst to provide energetic, fresh, and innovative administrative support to the City Manager's office.

All previous incumbents of this position have moved on to a full-time position in other communities across SE Michigan and the U.S. The successful candidate will be expected to work up to 30 hours per week for a minimum six (6) month commitment with the possibility of extending the assignment for a total of 12 months.

Responsibilities include: perform in an intern capacity learning high-level city management functions and responsibilities of senior management while contributing original background briefings and analysis; participate in internal/external meetings; assist in identifying solutions to the division, department and organization wide issues; assist in preparation of presentations executed by City Management Team; assist in the implementation and management of data collection for the City's performance management efforts; oversee the City's Citizen Relationship Management system and respond to service requests in a timely manner; maintain appropriate records and files; examination and execution of shared services and intergovernmental cooperation; interact with the public, City staff, and elected officials in person, digitally and/or via telephone; perform specific research/investigation into operational issues, as requested; represents the City Manager's Office, providing support to that office and other operating departments. Generate correspondence and reports as requested utilizing knowledge of PowerPoint, Microsoft Word and Excel. Investigate/research information regarding special projects likely to include work with multi-year budget, benefit/cost analysis, shared services, and legislative issues. Act as a representative of the City of Novi City Manager's Office at public events.

Qualifications include: Bachelor Degree in public administration, political science or related field, and current enrollment in a Graduate program is required. Salary: $23.00 - $28.00/hr. Healthcare, pension benefits, and any other benefits afforded to permanent employees are excluded from this position.
