Senior Patent Counsel

Senior Patent Counsel (Global Legal Organization) Locations: San Diego, CA; Cambridge, MA; Spring House, PA; or New Brunswick, NJ. Key Responsibilities Draft and prosecute patent applications. Advise business on patent and regulatory exclusivity strategy. Review, draft, and advise on IP‑related contracts. Partner with litigation on patent‑related litigations and disputes. Conduct third‑party and reverse patent due diligence. Educate stakeholders on IP‑related topics. Key Attributes Strong interpersonal skills and high emotional intelligence. Ability to work across business functions, cultures, and multiple time zones (San Diego: frequent early morning video conferences typically starting 7 AM). Qualifications J.D. or LL.M. with admission and good standing with the bar of one state or DC; USPTO admission required. Degree in molecular biology or related field (MS/PhD preferred). 5+ years drafting/prosecuting biologics patent applications at a law firm or corporate legal department.
