Senior Associate, Funds + Advisory

Position Overview The Senior Associate will work on the Funds & Advisory team within the Strategic Investments Group. The Funds & Advisory team manages a diversified portfolio that, consistent with the rest of NYCEDC, is dedicated to expanding opportunity and enriching NYC’s economy. Investments are made directly in companies and into funds. Investments cut across asset classes, including debt, equity, and guarantees and seek blended financial and social / environmental returns. The Funds & Advisory team also advises internal and external stakeholders on a range of strategic initiatives and financial topics. The Senior Associate will assist with all aspects of the impact investment process, including pipeline sourcing, financial analysis and modeling, due diligence, investment memorandum preparation, presentation to the relevant governance committee(s), legal documentation, transaction execution and funding. The Senior Associate will also assist with the broader advisory function, ongoing fund portfolio monitoring and reporting and research-based evaluation and program design associated with the launch of new impact investment tools. Source pipeline and screen business plans to cultivate impact investment opportunities Supportdue diligence in the form of business model evaluation, financial analysis,and industry/market analysis Develop andmaintaindetailed financial models, including ability to isolate and manipulate key model drivers Assistwith investment structuring and credit and valuation analyses (e.g.,IRRandDCFanalyses) Review and negotiateterm sheets and legal documentation Prepare investment memorandumsandpresentations to inform senior decision-making, includingpresentinginvestment recommendations to NYCEDC executive staff,boardmembers,and City officials Assistwith fund monitoring and reporting, including financial and impact returns Supportinternal and external colleagueswith impact investmentprogram designand execution Prepare ad-hoc analyses to evaluatenew impact investment programs and strategic opportunities Collaborate with colleagues in other NYCEDC departments, including but not limited to Legal,Finance,Strategy,andInitiatives to support organizational and city priorities Other duties as assigned Qualifications At least3years of transactional experience inarelevant field (e.g., investing, investment banking, private equity, real estate finance) Demonstrated interest in or experience with impact investing that balances financial returns with measurable social, economic, or environmental outcomes preferred. Provenfinancial analysis skills, includingfinancial modeling, underwriting and/or valuation,and quantitative analysis Proficiencyusing spreadsheet and presentation applications, including Excel and PowerPoint Effectivewritten andverbalcommunication skills, including public speaking and engagement with external stakeholders Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities whilemaintainingorganization, accuracy, andattention to detail. Demonstrated analytical skills, including the ability to evaluate information,identifytrends, and develop evidence-based recommendations. Demonstratedsoundjudgment, with the ability to assess opportunities and support informed decision-making. Demonstrated ability to assess opportunities through analytical and critical thinking to support sound decision-making. $90,000 - $92,000 USD
