The Birmingham VA Health Care System is seeking a compassionate, mission-driven Primary Care Physician to join our dedicated Womens Health Clinic (WHC) . This is a unique opportunity to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care to Women Veterans in a collaborative, supportive, and highly specialized environment.

\n

Important: This is NOT a Gynecology position this is a Primary Care role focused on whole-person care for Women Veterans.

Position Overview

\n

\n
• Role: Womens Health Primary Care Physician (FM or IM)
\n
• Location: Birmingham VA Health Care System Womens Health Clinic
\n
• Schedule: MondayFriday, 7:30 AM 4:00 PM
\n
• Employment Type: Full-Time, Federal
\n

\n

Clinical Scope

\n

Provide comprehensive primary care tailored to Women Veterans, including:

\n

\n
• Preventive care and wellness visits
\n
• Acute and chronic disease management
\n
• Uncomplicated gynecologic care
\n
• Uncomplicated mental health management
\n

\n

You will build meaningful, longitudinal relationships with your patients while delivering high-quality, whole-person care.

\n

Team-Based Care (PACT Model)

\n

Practice within a fully supported Patient-Aligned Care Team (PACT) :

\n

\n
• Dedicated Clerk, LPN, and RN
\n
• Womens Health Clinical Pharmacist (PharmD)
\n
• Social Worker support
\n
• Specialized coordinators for:
\n
\n
• Maternity care
\n
• Breast cancer screening
\n
• Cervical cancer screening
\n
\n

\n

Practice Model & Patient Load

\n

\n
• Daily schedule: ~1214 patients
\n
• New patients: 60 minutes
\n
• Established patients: 30 minutes
\n
• Panel size: ~1,000 patients max
\n

\n

This structure allows for thoughtful, relationship-based care not volume-driven medicine.

\n

Student Loan Repayment

\n

\n
• Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) eligibility up to $200,000
\n

\n
