School Registered Nurse | Fairfax, Virginia

In this 1:1 RN position, you'll work closely with a student who requires specialized healthcare support, building a trusting relationship while advocating for their safety and success. Your clinical expertise and compassionate approach will play a key role in fostering a supportive educational setting.

Qualifications:

• Current and active RN license
• Previous experience in school nursing, pediatric nursing, or a similar setting strongly preferred
• CPR and First Aid certifications required
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Ability to deliver individualized care and adapt to a student's evolving needs
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and following healthcare protocols

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 nursing care to a student during school hours, including medication administration and monitoring
• Document health services provided and communicate regularly with school staff and parents
• Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, following appropriate protocols
• Participate in developing and implementing the students individualized health plan
• Educate and empower the student regarding their health care needs
• Remain up-to-date with best practices in school nursing and attend relevant trainings
