The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) is seeking a Financial Technician to join our Administrative Support team at our Headquarters in Boise, Idaho. This role is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and enjoys working with a wide range of people.

As a Financial Technician, you will perform a variety of financial and administrative functions that support not only the Administrative Division, but the department as a whole. This position plays a key role in maintaining smooth daily operations and serves as the first point of contact for the department, helping ensure a positive and professional experience for both internal and external customers.

Key responsibilities include managing front desk operations, answering the department’s main phone line, and helping in-person visitors. You will maintain visitor logs and sign-in records, issue contractor and temporary employee badges, and support ID card services, including photos and building access. Additional duties include assisting with mail processing and general office support.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and with the public.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES

• Reviews, evaluates, approves, and processes records and/or documents.

• Extensive customer service over the phone explaining requirements, processes, and procedures.

• Maintains a manual or computerized records system; performs related work.

• Gathers information, makes decisions, resolves problems, and responds to inquiries that involves an extensive in-depth knowledge of the program.

• Utilizes independent judgment and discretion as to the methods, policies, and procedures used to complete assignments.

  MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

• Researching and compiling financial information and preparing summaries and reports.

• Using personal computers to enter, retrieve, and edit financial data.

Good Knowledge of:

• Financial Record Keeping

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience in accounts payable/receivable, payroll processing, or administrative support.

• Proficient in financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

• Strong problem solving and customer service skills.

• Ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
