Role Overview
Mission: Lead Riverstone's safety strategy by developing, implementing, and continuously improving programs that protect Extra Milers, contractors, customers, and assets while fostering a culture where safety is a core value.
Core objective: Drive operational excellence by implementing proactive safety initiatives, regulatory compliance programs, risk reduction strategies, and leadership engagement that empower Riverstone to become the safest and most trusted coast-to-coast big & bulky logistics company in North America.
Who You Are: You are an experienced safety professional with expertise in warehouse, transportation, and logistics operations. You combine technical knowledge with leadership skills to influence all levels of the organization, drive continuous improvement, and create a culture where safety is integrated into every operation.

Safety Leader: Champions a proactive safety culture by leading risk reduction initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting accountability at all levels of the organization.
Data-Driven Decision Maker: Uses safety metrics, incident trends, audits, and performance data to identify risks, prioritize actions, and drive continuous improvement.
Operational Partner: Collaborates with operations leadership to integrate safety into daily business activities while supporting productivity, quality, and customer service objectives.
Coach & Mentor: Develops leaders and Extra Milers through training, coaching, and constructive feedback, fostering ownership, engagement, and continuous growth in safety performance. Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities
Help develop and execute the corporate safety strategy
Ensure OSHA, DOT, EPA, and state regulatory compliance
Manage OSHA recordkeeping and workers compensation process
Conduct facility audits and risk assessments
Develop and deliver safety training programs
Partner with Operations to reduce risk while improving performance
Lead Safety Committees and Extra Milers engagement initiatives
Prepare and maintain safety dashboards
Support new facility startups and operational improvements Required Qualifications (Education, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Five (5) or more years of safety management or leadership experience.
Relevant experience in logistics, warehousing, transportation, and related environments is required.
Multi-site operations experience is preferred.
Professional certifications such as OSHA 30 or OSHA 10 are preferred but not required.
Ability to travel up to 50% Physical Demands and Work Environment
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively with coworkers, supervisors, customers, government agencies, and external stakeholders in person, by telephone, email, video conferencing, and other electronic communication methods. The employee must be able to prepare and present written reports, conduct meetings and training sessions, and exchange information clearly, accurately, and in a timely manner. Travel to facilities, perform warehouse walkthroughs, and work in both office and industrial environments.
