Solar Field Service Lead (Lost Hills, CA)

* Stresses the importance that safety is the most important function, ensuring that all employees follow safe practices while working* Able to perform all essential Field Service Technician Levels 1-4 job responsibilities* Preform, direct, and supervise site maintenance, repair, troubleshooting as directed by management, adhering to company and industry safety standards* Ensure a safe working environment through strict adherence to and enforcement of company and industry safety standards* Implement repairs to unfamiliar solar equipment, systems and plants with a minimum amount of training and familiarization safely* Direct and take responsibility for safety regulations and work procedures for the team* Understand, follow and communicate safety regulations and work procedures* Supervise and provide ongoing training for Solar Technician Level I, II, III, and IV employees* Prepare timely and accurate documentation and required reports related to site operation* Assessing and suggest improved processes, collaborate on new technologies, and coordinate with EPC management regarding the implementation of these improvements* Uphold diversity and inclusion as an unconscious part of SOLV Energy culture.* Respond “on‐call” as directed by supervisor to assist in emergency equipment repairs.* High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalent, Vocational/Technical School training a plus* Minimum four years of experience in solar facility maintenance and repair* Demonstrate advanced computer operation skills and ability to operate system monitoring applications* Advanced working knowledge of solar systems/plants, protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters and transformers* Ability to troubleshoot network and telemetry issues* Ability to pass an exam on international and domestic electrical schematics and symbols* Ability to pass an exam on electrical troubleshooting* Ability to pass an exam on reading and interpreting hydraulic and pneumatic diagrams* Effective computer operation skills and ability to operate system monitoring applications* Valid OSHA 30 certification* Valid NFPA 70e Safety Training certification* Remain Current in all safety and technical trainings* Demonstrated ability to be self-sufficient and safe under any conditions* Effective verbal and written English language communication skills* Effective organizational skills* To work well with PM, management, OCC, HV, SCADA, Performance, Networking/IT, Compliance teams* Ability to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)* Ability to work on an “on call” basis (may include weekends or after-hours situations)* Ability to work with other techs to be able to complete tasks with these team members* Valid driver’s license, satisfactory driving record and ability to operate company vehicle* Ability to assess safety items and issue Stop Work if concerns are raised* Ability to do monthly reporting for both maintenance reports and performance reports* Ability to create and adhere to site specific schedules* To know complete site scope and contract* Ability to prioritize levels of response to issues across the numerous plants in the region, and determine most effective use of resources available* Work with the Performance teams to know and meet availability guarantees, and build risk management strategies to mitigate any shortfalls* To interact with various Asset managers and owner’s reps, such as creating and running conference calls, onsite meetings, as well as keeping them effectively connected with the operation of their facilities* Take ownership of the facilities they oversee, being able to field owner questions and concerns providing assurance of services rendered* Ability to provide detailed costs and services needed to the PM teams for pricing so they can make accurate estimates/PCI’s to owners* Ability to find and work with various vendors, as well as understanding the scopes requested. Example: Electrical, landscaping, module washing etc.* Ability to know the safety aspects of having other contractors onsite, and the safety requirements* To know the proper way to handle a security or safety issues, or who to reach out to if these events occur* Ability to train other techs and know their strengths and weaknesses on onsite items as well as other job activities, such as Sprocket, Vitals, RTDB, and the various monitoring platforms* Work to maintain leadership qualities to inspire the techs and O&M environment* Strong verbal and written communications* Occasional exposure to weather, harsh outdoor environment, vibration, dust and fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicals* Requires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 lbs. or more* Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, and possess depth perception* Occasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high, exposed, or difficult to access places* The noise intensity level may be highSOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry.
