Department Speech Therapy Role Overview Works under the supervision of a Speech Therapy Supervisor. Responsibilities Assess referred patients. Plan and administer speech therapy intervention plans, schedule treatments, and record treatment information. Instruct students to assist in the treatment and rehabilitation of patients. Provide instruction to patients, family, and hospital staff. Demonstrate knowledge and skills to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served in the unit. Perform other duties as assigned. Administer care plans compatible with physician, patient, and family goals. Provide high-quality and safe patient care. Complete all documentation related to patient treatment. Assist in the efficient and effective return of patients, achieving the highest degree of independence possible. Maintain a cost-effective treatment plan. Assist in the orientation of new employees and volunteers. Ensure that persons who work for, are serviced by, or are associated with the hospital receive the highest degree of courtesy possible. Adhere to established hospital safety standards. Ensure department objectives are met. Qualifications Education: California Speech Therapy license required, or a temporary California Speech Therapist license with a commitment to obtain a permanent license within one year from date of hire. Licensure: Current BLS/Healthcare Provider status per American Heart Association standards required. Certificate of Clinical Competence required. Experience: None. Compensation Hourly rate: $57.54 - $69.94. Shift Differentials: Hourly Evening Shift Differential: $2.00; Hourly Night Shift Differential: $4.00. Job Specifications Union: NUHW. Work Shift: Variable.
