Compensation: Commission The purpose of this job description is to provide a guide by which you and the management at Economy Fence Center may measure your progress and ability to meet our commitments. The following should be considered an outline of your responsibilities and duties as an employee of Economy Fence Center, not a detailed description of how all tasks should be completed. Position Summary: The Sales Consultant provides a variety of information and sells Fencing & Gate Automation services and products using technical, organizational and product knowledge to influence customers and assist them in applying the products/services to their needs, resulting in revenue generation. This position works in collaboration with several different employees, departments and vendors to handle needs for clients and potential clients. Essential Functions: Follow up on all assigned sales leads. Screen and qualify prospects to determine how to best meet client needs. Travel throughout Puget Sound area to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders. Professionally meet and greet customers while making outside visits, telephone calls or contact. Maintain up-to-date product knowledge on various lines offered by EFC. Present, display or demonstrate products, using samples or printed material in an appealing manner. Prepare quotes and credit terms, close sales and obtain appropriate paperwork and deposits. Monitor all activities of sales transactions from start to completion, including assist installation department with customer changes & problem solving. Enter, update and verify sales lead data into various systems for use by EFC employees. Clean and maintain work space, vehicles, company provided equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with housekeeping, safety and company standards. Good time management and ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Ability to recognize there is a problem or safety concern and provide appropriate measure to alleviate issue. Other duties as assigned. Areas of Responsibilities: Successfully promote and sell Residential, Light industrial & Gate Automation systems. Establish good working relationship with other team members. Foster positive communications and relationships with potential clients, vendors and team members. Keep up to date on industry trends and developments. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Actively participate in meetings as requested Qualifications: High school diploma or general education degree (GED). Two to three years’ experience in a sales environment. Construction field experience preferred. Excellent computer knowledge and skill level in Microsoft Office (Excel and Word), Outlook and CRM’s Superior customer service skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills using English language. Ability to read and understand construction plans. Possess or ability to learn construction processes, means and methods. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to use basic algebra and geometry skills. Must have valid Washington State driver’s license and favorable driving record. Must have reliable transportation and valid insurance. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Detail oriented and excellent time management skills. Able to maintain a good working relationship with all employees and customers. Must be prompt, on time to work and have regular attendance. Competent in conflict management and resolution. Physical requirements: Frequent standing, walking and sitting. Occasional lifting and carrying up to 50 pounds. Must be able to work at computer or desk area for extended periods of time. Must be able to stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl. Frequent use of visual abilities seeing short and long distances and color. Must have the ability and willing to travel as needed.
