Assistant Manager Salary: £21,419.50 – £23,071 Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire Job Type: Part Time Expires: 12/07/2026 Company: Wakefield Council About the Role To work effectively as part of the management team for the supported living service supporting adults with learning disabilities and complex needs as tenants in their own homes in the community, promoting independence, choice, rights and inclusion. Key Responsibilities Day‑to‑day operational responsibilities for tenants supporting the individuals to live independently in the community. Induction, probation, supervision, identifying and tracking learning and development needs, staff rotas and implementation of Council policy and procedure. Shared responsibility for up to 100 staff in the Manager's absence. Accountability for safe management of expenditure and income for tenants, including cash, cheques, direct debits, invoices, in relation to their personal finances. Regular financial audits. Producing and/or processing manual and electronic data and information, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and data security. What will be expected from me? Flexibility and may necessitate occasional evening and weekend working. Good keyboarding skills. Support the Manager to ensure safe delivery of the service. Participate in a telephone on‑call service on a rota basis with responsibility across the whole service. Essential Requirements Level 3 NVQ in care or diploma in adult social care. Willingness to work towards a Leadership and Management level 3 or 5 qualification. Relevant training to meet the needs of a CQC registered service. Significant experience of working in a similar setting with learning disabilities. What can I expect? A competitive salary.
