About the Position

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med/Surg / Tele RN in Greensboro, North Carolina, 27401!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years required License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - EKG exam requirement during onboarding - Experience with EPIC charting system - Previous charge nurse experience preferred Description: Posted as MS Tele due to EKG requirement for all RNs and tele-capable unit. The patient population will primarily consist of medical-surgical patients. Position requires working three 12-hour shifts (7 PM - 7:30 AM) with every other weekend and holidays as needed. Floating to different areas may be required based on the census. All travelers may float across all health system facilities. Patient diagnoses include respiratory conditions, general medical-surgical diagnoses, palliative care, end-of-life hospice patients, psychiatric observation, and diabetic patients including complications. Experience with managing observation patients and surgical observation is necessary. Skills required include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tube management, colostomy and ileostomy care, feeding tube management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias. Ability to manage isolation precautions and handle dysrhythmias is essential. Wound care and use of rapid response and code teams are expected. Daily patient ratio is 6 for day and night shifts. Unit supports interdisciplinary teams including IV, physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy among others. Travelers must pass an EKG exam during onboarding with two attempts allowed. Education verification is necessary, and no open background cases are permitted. Travelers may be required to float to any designated campus as needed.
