Job Purpose and Impact

The Associate Account Manager will provide basic knowledge to participate in primarily remote selling to the company’s new and existing customers. The role will encompass a blend of account management and business development, actively seeking new customers. In this role, you will help identify prospective customers, build relationships and develop the ability to assess customer needs to suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions that maximize product revenue and improve profitability. This position is in Cargill’s Food North America Retail Sales organization supporting the Water Quality Salt business for the US Midwest region. 

Key Accountabilities

• Build customer partner relationships to sell products, provide quotes and product pricing within pricing function guidelines.
• Assist in the development of customer/territory sales strategies to meet customer goals and objectives.
• Gather and communicate channel, market, customer or competitive information and intelligence and collaborate with the team on strategy and pricing functions.
• Partner with the team to manage contracts and customer risk with product line, pricing and Customer Service teams.
• Handle basic issues and problems under direct supervision, while escalating more complex issues to appropriate staff.
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
• Ability to travel in assigned geography – up to 25% 
• Driver's license in good standing
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc) 

Preferred Qualifications

• CRM experience (Salesforce or related systems) 
• Previous sales and negotiation experience 

Position Information

• This position is open to candidates located in Wayzata, MN or Wichita, KS. 
• This position is hybrid and requires to be on site based on business need. Up to 25% travel is required to cover the area of responsibility. 
• The expected salary for this position is $60,000 - 70,000. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific location, certifications, education, and level of experience. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. This position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award. The incentive award amount is dependent upon company performance and your personal performance.
